Essay Guidelines

Book and Video List

One of the many important characteristics a student must develop on the road to becoming a I Dan is an intellectual curiosity.  Learning and education are lifetime pursuits, true martial artists value them.

Each candidate for Dan testing is required to read a book or view a video with a martial arts theme.  Then using the book or video as a source, the student must write a well thought out and organized essay on any aspect of Taewkon-Do.  The length of the essay should be appropriate to someone who is a candidate for Dan testing.  The essay must be turned in prior to testing in both hard copy and digital formate (MS Word).  All essays will be posted on this web site as an educational resource for others.

Students may chose a book or video from the lists below.  Or with the Instructor's permission, may choose another book or video.
