5th Gup Green, 4th Gup Blue and 3rd Gup Blue need to print
up a copy of their testing form and present it to Seniors in order to pass off requirements.
2nd Gup Red and above should print up the special Pass Off sheets available for download on their current curriculum
page.
Students may have requirements passed off by 1st Gup Red Belts and above Senior
students and Instructors. 1st Gup Red and above candidates must have a Senior at least one rank higher pass off requirements
and each item must be passed off by the Head Instructor after being passed off by a senior rank.
Patterns must be passed off in order starting with Chon Ji. Students must know Pattern history,
number of moves and Pattern diagram in order to pass off the Pattern. If a student is unable to pass off a Pattern,
they must practice suggested improvements for a MINIMUM of one week before trying to pass off the Pattern again. A student
may not move on to other Patterns until the current Pattern is passed off. However, students may continue to pass
off other requirements such as Step Sparring and Self Defense while working on passing off a Pattern. If a student
does not pass off a Pattern, that student must return to the same Senior to complete pass off of that particular Pattern.
If schedule conflicts arise, see the Head Instructor to complete pass off.
Step
Sparring may be passed off in any order. However, if the student does not complete a step sparring pass off they must
practice a MINIMUM of one week before trying to pass it off again. The student may not pass off any other step sparring
until the current step sparring pass off is completed. If a students does not pass off Step Sparring, that student must
return to the same Senior to complete pass off of that particular Step Sparring. If schedule conflicts arise, see the
Head Instructor to complete pass off.
Time management and goal setting skills are
extremely important in order to successfully complete this testing requirement. Please do not wait until the last minute
to try to complete your Pass Offs. As the old saying goes, "A lack of planning on your part does not constitute
an emergency on my part."
